History
On June 20th, the following invitation was prepared and delivered to all residents on North Lake by Ron Luebke:
3825
N. Sherman Blvd
Milwaukee 16, Wisconsin
June 20, 1953
Dear Friend:
If you are the owner or prospective owner of a sailboat in any class, this
note will be of special interest to you.
As you know, North Lake has been without a yacht club for many years. Knowing that the potential for a really fine club exists on the Lake, I have studied the problems involved and have made the necessary arrangements for the incorporation of a non-stock, non-profit organization to be called the North Lake Yacht Club. The purpose of this club will be to promote yachting and sportsmanship, offering new friends and fellowship to its members.
I have
obtained copies of the by-laws of clubs on neighboring lakes as well as the
necessary legal documents. Officials and ex-officials of neighboring clubs
have volunteered to assist in the organization. All that is needed to put
this club in action is your help:
How? By attending the first "get acquainted" meeting on Saturday, June
27th, at 2:00P.M.
Where? The Marvin Luebke summer residence on the east side of Wild
Wood Point (the south point between Big and Little North Lakes).
I am enclosing a map for your convenience if you come by car. If you come
by boat, just tie up at our pier (the white pier with the white raft anchored
off its end).
Please plan to attend this gathering at which we will get acquainted and have
an informal discussion relative to the organization of a club.
Sincerely,
Ron Luebke
